Tobacco use in middle and high school students
The most current numbers on tobacco abuse in the midst of U.S. middle school students draw closer from a 2006 survey conducted by the CDC.
Approximately about 10% of students have reported using various form of tobacco such as cigarettes, spit or other oral tobacco, cigars, pipes, and season cigarettes like bidis or kreteks. They use in any case on one occasion in the past few days.
· About 6% of the students had been on fire cigarettes
· About 4% had smoked cigars.
· About 3% used spit or other smoke free tobacco.
· Around 2% had smoked by using pipes and the equal number had smoked bidis (flavored cigars).
· Boys about 11% were slightly more likely than girls who are about 8% to use various type of tobacco. Though girls were somewhat more probably to be on fire cigarettes, boys were more probably to use spit or other smoke free tobacco, bidis, or cigars.
· High school students are more likely to use cigars than middle school students. About 26% of high school students use tobaccos which are available in various forms.
· As per the study and on the average one per five students in high school is using tobacco.
· About 8% of the people are using spit tobacco and smokeless tobacco.
· 13% of the boys and 2% of girls are trapped in tobacco world.
Quitting tobacco is more important as it makes to become addict of other drugs. Students must be taken to drug testing centers to check for drugs and smoking. Smoking can be identified by drug testing such as high school drug testing, drug testing students in school, random drug testing school, student drug tests, and drug tests for high school students. School must take special care on students who are at the age 10-14 to avoid drug addiction.
