Kits enables the sample collection, dipping of strips in the case of urine sample and results are reported immediately. Most of the drugs testing kits are affordable by all people. Only the advanced drug kits are expensive. The prices of kits are reasonable and based on the sample to be tested. Drug test kits when compared to lab test they are cheaper. Hair Follicle Test

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

A hair follicle test calculates the drug molecules and their exact metabolites that are formed just after the drug has been coursed by the human body. After the drug is processed, trace quantities of its metabolites are placed in to the hair follicle by the metabolic processes during the formation of keratin.

Hair follicle drug testing is an extra drug testing method for forensic requirements. These tests in many cases require a legal authorization for pre-employment hiring and the proceeds are up in suits to have hair testing approved for pre-employment hiring to enable a better hiring pattern.

The five drug groups, which are ordered for testing by the Federal Government is:

  • Cocaine (cocaine and benzoylecgonine)
  • Marijuana (THC)
  • Opiates (Codeine, Morphine and 6-monacteyl morphine)
  • Methamphetamine (Meth, Amphetamine and Ecstasy)
  • Phencyclidine (PCP)

The discovery of the drugs in hair is pretty much logical and understandable.  The reasonability of their identification regardless of ages back usages is justifiable scientifically.

Drugs that are ingested move in to the person’s bloodstream will penetrate into cells in the body together with those in hair follicles. The cells in hair follicles grow up and split quickly to make a hair fiber. As the hair fiber is created the cells are packed with proteins named keratins and the cells slowly die.

The keratins are inert and resistant to solvents. As the keratins build up in the dying cells they “preserve” the drugs in the dead cells. Every cell in a hair fiber is similar to an ice cube. As the ice (keratin) traps anything within, the metabolized are seized in place; it cannot go away. As a result, the keratins prevent the drugs from leaving the dead cells. As a result, drugs can be discovered in the hair fiber several months after drugs were consumed.

The benefit of applying the hair follicle drug testing is that the hair follicle keeps a history of drug consumption for a long time. A strand of hair grows an average of 1/4″ for each month, thus simply a 4″ length can prove drug consumption as far back as 8 months. Shaving your head prior to a test cannot aid you. The sampling process requires getting a sample from your underarm or pubic hair if you do not contain at least 1″ of hair on your scalp.

The home drug test has made it possible to have drugs tested and identified right from home.  Hair drug testing kits contain a very long drug discovery window. For most drugs it can identify drug consumption about 90 days or more.

An unlawful drugs substance user may possibly abstain from consuming drugs for 3 days to 2 weeks prior to applying for a job. With customary drug testing of a urine sample, there is a good possibility that the candidate will test negative and then begin consuming drugs again once they are appointed.
