The test which confirms the pregnancy is called pregnancy test. HCG or Human chronic gonadotrophin is the hormone responsible for the development of embryo during the pregnancy; early hcg level pregnancy test might or might not give correct result based on how early you are trying to test.

The type of home pregnancy test that you choose is also important. Urine if the common method; however, blood and saliva is also used in such testing processes.

The pregnancy can be confirmed by performing various tests you can take home pregnancy test or a digital ept pregnancy test or a pregnancy drug test.

It can be tested in several ways and the most common tests are Urine and blood sample tests. Gonadotrophin starts the secretion as early as 10 days of conception. The blood test can be performed by two ways. Qualitative methods, which measures the presence of the hormone and Quantitative methods, which measures the quantity of hormone.

The blood test is performed by drawing a sample of blood with a needle and testing in a laboratory. This may take few hours or one day to get the result. This might be little painful at the time of needling but it might be for some minutes. The urine test is performed by placing a single drop of normal urination in a chemical strip provided which will give the results in few seconds.

HCG levels should double in every 48 hours of early stages of pregnancy. In first trimester the HCG levels will rapidly increase and it will slow down later. If the HCG level is below 25-50 mlU/ml then the urine test will be negative. Ultra sound is also a type of test in pregnancy to check the viability. It indicates the lower heart beat and missed development milestones which may cause problem in pregnancy. However, the mistake in estimation of fetal age can give the scan result negatively. If the first test indicates a problem then a second scanning after a period of 10 days is advisable.
