  1. Stuart B Says:

Do you have an environmental test kit for nicotine or for cigarette smoke residue?

  2. Scott Dyess Says:

I have a 17-year-old who got a ticket for possession of cigs, yesterday. He volunteered that he “dips” maybe 5 times per month, but that he doesn’t smoke; he alleges that the cigs belong to a guy he knows. He spends 10-15 hours per week in a friend’s basement, where they play pool, and where he maybe subject to “second-hand” smoke.

So, I’m wanting to know how truthful he’s being with me. Is there a nicotine or tobacco test that can differentiate between smoking & “dipping?” Also, is there one that can differentiate between an actual smoker versus “second-hand” smoke from the above environment? Thanks, Scott.

  3. Gajendra Bafna Says:

    Scott:

The instant tests are only seeking a certian cutoff level. Thus, the instant tests have no way to distinguish between the two scenarios you presented.

One is not expected to show positive for “second-hand” smoke”.

    Hope this helps.
